Places: Underwater Fishing

Welcome to the Underwater Fishing cavern! This trapped air pocket has created an underwater lake with all kinds of strange and wondrous sea creatures, as well as some... other interesting things. Take a place on the jetty and start fishing! But be patient. You might have to wait a while between catches.

How It Works

Fishing is quite simple in Neopia. All you need to do is cast your line and reel it in to bring in a catch. You can visit the underwaterfishing roughly once a day, sometimes after 12 hours, but it is random. I usually just do it once a day along with my other dailies.

What you catch is dependent on your fishing level. Everytime you fish you have the chance to increase your pet's fishing level. The higher the level, the higher the possible catch you'll reel in.

What You'll Catch

Most of what you catch will be, well, junk. You won't really be able to sell the most of it, especially what you catch early on. Some of the fish will be edible so you can feed them to your pet, but all the gardening and random boots are worthless. There are a few things, however, that make underwater fishing worth it.

BROKEN BAG OF NEOPOINTS
This can be repaired at the toy repair shop and you can receive up to a couple thousand neopoints. You can receive this right away when fishing, regardless of your skill. This is probably the best thing you can catch, especially in the early stages of fishing.

This book can be read by all of your pets (as it doesn't poofinto smoke!) and it will increase their fishing skill by one to three levels. That makes getting to the avatar faster! You may be able to catch this after you have reached a fishing skill level of 20+.

IRRITABLE GENIE-IN-A-BOTTLE
This is a one-use item in which you can further increase your pet's level by one to three levels. It does NOT change the fishing level. This is a costly item, however.

Spell Rewards

There are a few different types of spells the faerie will cast.

Hit Points: The Water Faerie may add a few hit points to each of your neopets.

Fully Restored: The Water Faerie may fully restore your active pet, or even all of your pets' health. This is limited to the maximum health score your pet.

Feeding: The Water Faerie may fully restore your active pet's health and also make them not hungry anymore.

Curing Your Pets

If your pet is suffering from an illness, and you cannot afford the medicine or treatment, visiting the Healing Springs every 30 minutes should result in your pet being cured. Make sure you keep your sick pet as your active pet. This is the easiest and cheapest way to keep your pets healthy!

Shopping at the Healing Springs

All of the items you can receive free from the Water Faerie are also available in stock to purchase. The store works differently than other stores in Neopia, as it is never out of stock. You can, however, only purchase one item every 30 minutes, just as visiting the Water Faerie. Even so, I highly recommend not shopping there. The amount of potions and snowballs circulating around the shops of Neopians is plentiful and much cheaper. You will save hundreds, I promise.
