The Auction House on Neopets is used to auction your items so that other users can bid on
them. Only items that sell for roughly 200 NP or more qualify. You can put the starting price as low as 1 Neopoint, and all the way up to 10 million! You can put
the item up for auction for 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours, 18 hours, 1 day, or 2 days. To put an item up for auction, go to
your items. Then click on the item you want to put up for auction, click the
option "Put up for auction!", Submit, then choose all of your options and click "Auction Item".
What if I only want my friends to bid?
Simple! When you are at the page where it gives you the choices of your minimum increment, ECT., just check the box that says "Neofriends Only?". This will only
allow your Neofriends to bid on the item and no one else! You might want to send a Neomail to all of your Neofriends so they know you have an auction for them!
Minimum Incre---What?
Minimum increment. This means when people go to bid on your item, they have to at least bid your minimum increment on top of what the last bid was. For example:
You have an Ornate Maractite Dagger up for auction and you put the starting price at 5,000 Neopoints. You set your minimum increment to 10 Neopoints. The first
person to bid will have to bid 5,010 Neopoints or more. Then, when the next bidder comes, they will have to bid at least 5,020 Neopoints.
Bidding
Not only can you put your own auctions up, but you can bid on others too! I would suggest using the Auction Genie if you are looking for something specific. Just go to
the auction house, click on Auction Genie and type in what you're looking for. If what you typed
in is the exact name of the item, then select "identical to my phrase" in the dropdown menu. If you only typed in part of the item's name, then select "contains my phrase". You
need to check the box that says "Ignore Neofriend-only auctions", otherwise you most likely won't be able to bid.
To bid on an item, click on either the item's name under "Item" or the picture under "Auction No.". To place your bid, just scroll down to where you see "Amount (in
Neopoints):". There will be a box next to it with a number in it. That number is the least you can bid, so don't lower it! You may bid higher so others will back off of
the auction you bid on if you wish.
