Tips on the Boards:
When someone tells you to post something on the boards, don't do it. Most of these tricks say you'll get a prize, but here's a newsflash for you: the only prize you'll be getting is a neomail from the neopets staff and one step closer to being frozen.
When you're a newbie, don't start to think that you should go to the newbie board. This is the most likely place you'll get frozen, to be honest. Pick a hobby that you like on neopets and go to that board instead.
Avatars are fun images that appear on the side of your post. You can pick the one you want by going to boards and then chat preferences. You can also unlock secret avatars (which are usually prettier) and use them instead. Secret avatars can be found most anywhere, and many sites have help pages that will tell you what to do to get that avatar.
You can change the text of your posts, too. There are lots of fonts that you can use, but lots of times it's hard to get the hang of fonts. Neopets used to have fonts that glowed, but took them off because lots of people just went too far.
Tips for Neopoints
Try to go to your dailies, such as the Fruit Machine, or the Giant Omelette. In the long run these things will really help feed your pet, and food can get expensive. Before you do anything else try to get your freebies.A shop or neohome would not be a good investment for a newbie. If you're new you have nothing people would want to buy. Wait until you have more money to invest in a neohome, because truth be told its only there for show. Sure, don't get me wrong I love my neohome. Even though it may make your pets happy, wait until you have more neopoints and from there take it slow.
Play games daily. Some of my recommendations are Hannah and the Ice Caves, Petpet Sitter, Defender Trainer, Faerie Bubbles, and Freaky Factory. The list goes on and on. Also try the featured game. Its a great way to double your neopoints.
Only spend neopoints on things that are absolutely necessary. Maybe have two plushies a pet, at most and feed your pets only when they are hungry. Otherwise they'll just get bloated and maybe get sick. Your neopets cannnot die! Even if it says that your pet is "dying" because they haven't been fed in awhile don't fear, they cannot die.
