Making a new guild? It can be a tough job choosing new council members, but there are a few main points to look for in some members. Maybe you can find a few great guild members to help you run your guild!
Are They Active?:
Above all, council members need to be active. If they can't be active, they just are not even worth your time. You are looking for a council member to be there when you need help. If they aren't there, can they do that? Nope. So you should look for active members to fill your open spots.

Are They Nice?:
Another really important thing to look for is the way members act toward other memebers. Your potential council member should be willing to help others, welcome new members, and get along well with you. You don't want someone who makes jokes that are intended to hurt others or say things you question. Read the words on the lookups of the potential council. You can learn a lot from those. If they are not nice, they are not council material.

What happens if I choose the wrong people?:
If the people you choose prove to be the wrong people, talk to them. Ask them if they will be more active or if they can act a little nicer. Based on their reaction, you will have to decide what to do. If they say they will change their ways, give them one more chance. If they get mad at all, suspend them. You don't want bad council to ruin the guild. Make sure to remove admin powers if you are in a fight! Sometimes people go crazy and try to delete things!

General Guidlines:
Before someone becomes council, you should go over some general guidlines with them. Make sure they understand how it will work, what powers they will have, and more importantly, what powers they will NOT have. Define this. If they don't listen, make sure you catch them right off the bat.

Notes:
I hope this helps you find the perfect council. I lead a great guild myself and it is tough. Especially when you have more than one great applicant.
