Are you looking to be lent an expensive item but are not sure what a lender looks for? Then this is the guide for you! When lenders are looking to see if someone has a good account they look at many different things, and this guide will go into detail about them. By the end of it you may be lent MSPP! (Kidding.. you will need millions for that one! But you can be lent fqd, zdap, etc. :D

Always remember that the reason your account needs to look good is you need to look trustworthy and that you wouldn't risk losing your account.
If there isn't much to your account, you may have nothing to lose if you run away with their item. So keep that in mind and always respect a lender when they turn you down, because they might lend you another day.

Avatar Count

Lenders look at your avatar count. Try getting more then 100 avatars. There are almost 100 clickable avatars so if you do not have more then that lenders will not be able to tell you worked hard to get them. Also, try inexpensive and maybe some game avatars that you are good at, as well.

Account age

Lenders will nearly ALWAYS look at your account age. It doesn't matter as much as other things because a user can be on Neopets for years and someone who has been on for 3 days can have a better account then them. Age does not mean your account is better, however, if your account is at newbie status, one could think you are a scammer, so wait till about a month before asking for big ticket items.

Pets

Lenders look for painted pet that have high stats (attack, strength, defense, intelligence, etc.). They may also look to see if you have petpets or petpetpets. Having only a basic pet doesn't show that you care a lot about your overall account. Just something to keep in mind. Having rare pets with expensive paints, such as royal, will make lenders more apt to lend to you.

Gallery Items

Lenders look for a gallery with rare items in them, such as paintbrushes, expensive battledome items, etc.. It also shows you are interested in collecting. You do not need to set up a fake collection though. :P

Trophies

If a user has many trophies it shows they work hard and care about their account. Lenders also look for Plot trophies to see if users work hard and take part in things on Neopets. This really is a big one.

Guild rank

Some lenders may look at your status in a guild and if you belong to a guild that is going well. If lenders can tell you put a lot of time into a guild they may find you more trusting.

Neohome

You may have a large neohome with a lot of expense items in it. This shows you have put effort into your account and wouldn't risk losing it.

Stamp Collection

Ff you have many rare, expensive stamps if your stamp album lenders can tell you spent awhile saving up for them.

Friendliness

If you are rude to a lender chances are they will not want to lend their items to you. Always be friendly and respectful, and not just because you want something.

Additional Information

NOTE: You do not need all of these things in order for people to lend things to you! A mixture of things and being yourself is the way to go!

Lenders look for things that show you put a lot of effort into your account and that would you not risk getting frozen. If you don’t think you have a “good account” there is always something called collateral.

Collateral (collat) is the amount of Neopoints you give a lender in exchange for an item(s). You give the lender collat they give you the item. When you return the item, you get your neopoints back. Collateral ranges from a couple Neopoints to millions of Neopoints. You can also use expensive easy to sell (ETS) items for collateral. Some lenders will offer a lower collateral for people who have a “good account” others will not lend for a neopoint less then what they want. To get things lent to you quickly and easily you should have full collateral. If you don’t know how much collateral is for a certain item ask the lender. If you don’t have full collateral try talking to your friends and see if they can lend you something. To get full collateral play some games and earn neopoints!

Afterword

Good luck and happy lending!
