Welcome newbies to the newbie guide-how to get started. This guide covers everything you need to get started, so take a look at the section you need and it will tell you how to get started in that area.
Section 1- Pets
Neopets allows you to own up to 4 pets and with those pets you can paint them, but that is later. You have a large selection of pets to choose from, but be careful, some may be limited edition or restricted. The ever-growing amount of neopets makes the selection wider. Some pets are lazy, others like to explore, and some will be the best pets ever,but that is for you to decide on your own!
Section 2- Taking care of your pet(s)
Well, you probably have your first pet, now you have to take care of them. Keep them happy, feed them, and train them! If you keep it happy and fed it will be better to you as an owner! Trust me, I found out the hard way!
Section 3- Food
If you have a picky pet (like my jubjub) then it will be hard to feed your pet certain foods, or if you are unlucky you can't heal it with certain potions. There is a solution for you though. If you have under 3000 neopoints then you can go to the soup faerie for free soup. Otherwise, you have to buy the food!
Section 4- Training
Training will be a thing to do if you want your pet to battle in the battledome. Use bottled faeries, and training academies to get the level and stats higher. Training is costly, though. In the training academies you either have to have a codestone or a dubloon for it, and both cost neopoints.
Section 5- Toys
Every neopet needs to be in a good mood! One way to make your neopet happy is to give it something good to play with. Any toy is fine! Even the smallest thing can make your neopet happy. But sometimes, your neopet won't like the toy. You have to try and get different kinds of toys and see if your pet likes them.
Section 6- Books
Of course, one of the most important things for a neopet are books. The books will help your neopet to be intelligent, which is always an important thing in Neopia. Do not go too book crazy for your neopet, because you cannot forget the other important things that a neopet needs! You can't just run out of neopoints from buying books! Books are just 1 of these important items.
Section 7- Battledome
The battledome, is NOT always the best thing for your neopet! If you want to have your neopet fight in the battledome, here are some VERY important things that you will NEED to know! First of all, unless your neopet is strong, has many hit points, many battle items, and is ready and well fed, it may not go too good. Your neopet can lose their hit points, and you will have to get them healthy all over again! If you really love your neopet, and do not want them to get hurt, then that is fine. Better safe than sorry.
Section 8- Healing your neopet
When you heal one of your neopets, it is important to have the right items for them. Neopets can get hurt from the battledome, games (such as the wheel of excitement), or, possibly even random events! So, when you are healing your neopets, be sure that you have the correct potion. If you go to neopets.com, then click on shops, THEN click on hospital, you can find some of the items to heal your pets from different diseases. Go to the shop wizard, look up the item, and there you go!
Section 9- I dont have enough NPS to cure my neopet!
When this happens, it is not the best thing. To make it where you have enough neopoints to buy the item that you need to cure your neopet, you can either click explore, then click on faerieland, then click on healing springs, and if you are lucky, she may cure your neopet! That is the first thing you should do. If it does not work, then you should click on games, and choose any game of your choice. You may get enough for the item! But please, do not go to the neopian boards and beg. It is not good.
Section 10- REPORTED!?
If you are new to neopets, you should be sure that you know what you are doing. You can get reported for some of the most random things. As a newbie to neopets, you should know the rules, or else you can get reported, and frozen! But only if you do something bad. Such as, spam- posting pointless messages over and over again
innappropriate language- this is not AIM! You will be reported for bad language!
scamming- hacking into somebody's account, and stealing thier items that they worked for!
