Whether you are just creating a guild, or looking to get new members, this special 'How To' can help you reach your guild goals.
When it comes to being a guild leader, there are a few important aspects of your guild you have to watch. First, make your name unique. It it's not unique, it won't stand out. Something ordinary like 'Neo Guild' or 'Neo Fan' makes your guild look like a copy. Just make it unique.
Second, in order to make your guild successful, you've got to worry about your guild's appearance. Get over it, people do judge the book by its cover. You can find many pre-made layouts on line on Neopet Graphic sites, such as here. Or, to make your guild more unique, make one yourself! If you don't know how to, look for the 'Guild Design Tutorial' under the templates. Basically, people like to look at things that are pleasant to the eyes.
Third, be active. Nothing is worse than having the leader and/or council be inactive. If they aren't there, there is no way for the guild to run. Only the leader and council members have the power to update, maintain, make announcements, create new polls, etc. Without a leader, it just isn't worth it. So, if you have a leader and council, be active! Make updates every day or so. Check the guild messages. Reply to guild members. Hold 'contests' (we know you can't have a guild contest because it goes against Neopets rules, but there are ways around that.) You have to keep your guild members interested, or else they may leave!
Fourth, have a guild webbie. You can use a petpage off of Neopets, or find a free-hosting site. You can't actually put the real address on your guild (if it isn't a petpage), but you can put the link onto a picture or do something like neopetsguide(dot)com. Maintain that page, too! Like I said before, keeping your guild members interested is important!
Fifth, ADVERTISE! On your guild main page, keep a text advertisement for guild members to use on the neoboards. Offer rewards to your guild members for the most new members. Advertise here, on NeopetsGuide when we are allowing it. Just make sure you get the word out for you guild!
I hope that this guide helps you achieve your guild goals!
