Scams are going around everywhere and everyday in Neopia, by people who just can't be bothered earning neopoints and items the honest way, or just have nothing better to do. I will now take you through scammers using the trading post to scam others.

Yes, the trading post is a safe place to trade your items for neopoints, or neopoints for items, but it isn't as safe as you may think...
Scammers use the trading post to lure people in giving them your neopoints and items. Below, this is an example of a trade that I came across while using the trading post, which is most likely to be a scam. (this is all 100% real)

As you can see, this person claims that if you offer 10,000np, she will give you 10 job coupons and 10 bottled light faeries. But, before you run to get out 10,000np to offer, stop, and think. Why dosen't this person just put the 10 bottled faeries and 10 job coupons for people to offer directly? Instead, this person put a item that isn't worth very much, for people to offer the 10,000np. This is what is stated on her lookup: (--- means the username has been taken out)

So I decided to neomail this person:

Me: just a note, doing this is against the rules, it is concidered scamming. telling people that they will get 10 free bottled light faeries and coupons if they offer 10k is against the rules.

Scammer: its true.

Me: true or not, it is against the rules. instead of saying people will get all those things if they offer 10k, prove it and put it in your trades to show that you do have it, and get them to offer on the actul items instead.

Scammer: ok whatever.

Me: Where's the proof that you actully have all those items?

(Did not recive a reply)

This person ended up never replying to my last neomail, and either took down the lot, or someone offered on it and fell for the scam, for that, I do not know. So think again before hitting that "make an offer!" Button, because you may want to concider the "Report this lot" button.
